OVERVIEW

Manual Therapy

When it comes to addressing physical traumas - whether they are recent injuries or the result of years of repetitive stress - key elements of healing are often overlooked. At FitAF Performance, manual therapy is not limited to symptom relief. Our approach is designed to identify and correct the underlying imbalances that lead to pain, dysfunction, and recurring compensations.

The objective is not only to reduce pain, but to restore sustainable, optimal movement patterns that allow you to train, perform, and live without recurring setbacks.

Our Approach

Our Approach To Manual Therapy

Manual therapy at FitAF Performance is comprehensive by design. Each session integrates multiple modalities to address both the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system as a whole.

We combine:
  • Clinical massage therapy
  • Physical therapy - informed movement strategies
  • Muscle activation techniques
  • Neuropathic and proprioceptive methods

This integrated approach allows us to address restrictions, restore proper muscle firing patterns, and improve joint mechanics rather than treating isolated symptoms.

Assessment And Individualization

Every manual therapy session begins with a thorough assessment. This includes:

  • Evaluation of current pain or discomfort
  • Analysis of bilateral imbalances
  • Observation of movement patterns and compensations

Based on this assessment, each session is tailored to your specific needs. Treatment plans evolve as your movement quality improves and symptoms resolve.

What A Session Includes

Each session incorporates both movement and hands-on therapy. Depending on your needs, sessions may include:

  • Targeted soft tissue release
  • Joint mobilization
  • Muscle activation and inhibition work
  • Corrective movement strategies
  • Education on posture and movement habits

The goal is to leave each session not only feeling better, but moving better.

SESSION DETAILS

Session Length Options

While every session includes both movement and manual therapy, there are important differences between session lengths.

Sixty-Minute Sessions

Best suited for follow-up care and maintenance once initial assessments have been completed.

Ninety-Minute Sessions

Recommended for first-time clients and complex cases. Initial assessments may reduce hands-on therapy time, and the ninety-minute format allows for comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and education without rushing the process.

Who This Service Is For

Manual therapy is ideal for individuals who:

  • Experience chronic or recurring pain
  • Have movement restrictions or asymmetries
  • Train consistently and want to prevent compensations
  • Are returning to training after injury

And someone who want to improve movement quality alongside performance
